Several West Coast music artists have dropped some bops for this week's weekly recommended rhythms. First up is TSpokes, this West Coast queen hails from the I.E. and graced us with her new single '2 BAD', the song samples Carl Carlton's ' She's A Bad Mama Jama'. T's flow is perfect over the sample as her verses emphasize that the mama jama is indeed too bad. It is a cute fly girl anthem and heavy in my current rotation. Next, we have Saweetie, and like her, I too want 'Boffum'. I mean, what are options, when you can have them all? Her single 'Boffum' relays just that. So fellas, when in doubt, go ahead and grab 'Boffum'. Saweetie put you on! AZ Chike, aka Chizzle, utilizes his lyricism to depict his recent life happenings with the elevation of his music career and transparency about the adversities faced in reaching his success on his latest freestyle 'Dirty Blue Jeans'.

Tyler, the Creator is a West Coast Fav, without doubt. His influence was evident during Kendrick's pop-out concert last year. However, music listeners and some hip-hop heads question Tyler's 'Don't Tap the Glass' album because, upon initial listen, many struggle to identify his sound and the elements embodied in the project, and still, this album is categorized as hip-hop. I admit 'Don't Tap the Glass' is not your typical sounding hip hop and specifically West Coast hip hop, but it is. If that makes sense? My favorite songs are 'Ring Ring Ring', which is reminiscent of Snoop Dogg's 'Sexual Eruption'. Tyler's "Stop Playing With Me " could easily be added to the "Paid and Full" soundtrack because it is giving 80s hip-hop and "I'll Take Care of You" ft. Yebba is a spin on Two Live Crew's hoochie mama, If you ask me, he kinda made the song a bit more classy than the original version. Tyler's style with 'Don't Tap the Glass' is unorthodox, sort of like O.D.B. or Biz Markie, but they're still hip-hop. The Creator stated that he wanted this project to influence listeners to get up and dance, and I think he gave us something to dance to with tracks like 'Sucka Free, Don't Tap that Glass, and Don't You Worry Baby. ' All that's needed is your "funky fresh" dance moves.

If you haven't already, give the album a spin, and if you have, spin it again!

AND DANCE!
