The ladies in R&B have been holding things down melodically, releasing all the R&B hits. I highly recommend filling your R&B playlists with the latest tunes from some of R&B's up-and-coming and veteran artists. However, I must forewarn that this list is loaded. During my time away from writing, I have taken the opportunity to delve into music and allow it to resonate without consuming it with urgency. (This List is Not A Ranking)

With the number of great songs rounding out the list, I'd be here all day attempting to provide a synopsis for each one. However, the suggested playlist indicates I am enjoying Coco Jones' new album 'Why Not More?'. I also saw her live performance at a recent stop on her tour in Los Angeles. She is the total package, serving talent, beauty, and charisma. Ms. Jones has a thang going on; her vocals were a joy to experience live, and if you're interested in hearing great live R&B music, consider attending a display of her live euphonious vocals—Momo's Boyd's 'American Love Song' ft. Infinity Song, a Rock music group, is shared by Momo and her three siblings. The genre of her latest single is technically Americana, but I think it's a good song, and I think it's worth listening to. Several millennium veterans have recent releases, such as CiCi, who has had everyone trying another one of her signature dance moves to her new song 'Ecstasy,' Tiffany Evans just dropped 'Hope You Understand Me.' The music group development from Xscape members is reminiscent of the classic 90's girl group sound. Psyrin', formed by Xscape member Kandi Burruss, refers to themselves as the group with "three lead singers." A name I see as befitting because when I tell you, each of the members can sing lead, harmonize, and serve all at once. Tune into their latest project, 'In the Key of Us' and their song Sober, the acoustic version. (Talk about range.) The OMG Girlz are also representing girl groups with their single 'Make A Scene'; the in-sync voices and choreography are reminiscent of Xscape's 'The Arms of the One Who Loves You.' My final playlist highlight is RHOA's Shamea Morton's single 'Never Had.' I like the song; it
sounds authentic and not like another bop a reality star drops to accompany their storyline. She has a good voice, and the song is a good match. Feel free to rummage through the list and find the hits that fit.

Gospel, Country, and Hip Hop had new music drop. Kirk Franklin was recently awarded at this year's BET awards and also gave a stellar and nostalgic performance, debuting his new single 'Dot it Again.' Cece Winans and Ms. Shirley Ceasar released 'Come Jesus Come.' Country music artist Kirby's 'The Man' is a sentimental and catchy tune. Hip-hop doyens E-40, Slick Rick, and Will Smith all released new music this past week. I invite you to listen with me while I get their latest in rotation.
